A house RESOLUTION
To honor the Sandy Run Ruritan Club and Mr.
Whereas, the members of
the South Carolina House of Representatives are proud to recognize the Sandy
Run Ruritan Club and Mr.
Whereas, the Sandy Run Ruritan Club has been sponsoring the annual "Liberty Day at the State House" for over thirty years. For over the last ten years, Mr. Pees has been the driving force behind the event; and
Whereas, "Liberty Day at the State House" provides the students of Sandy Run Elementary School with a valuable chance to discover the inner workings of the State House. The students visit the State House, sit in the House gallery to watch the House proceedings, are given a tour, and meet their House Representative for questions and answers. As keepsakes, the students are given copies of booklets containing information about the legislative process, the Mace of the House of Representatives, State symbols, and State emblems; and
Whereas, the South
Carolina House of Representatives greatly appreciates the opportunity the Sandy
Run Ruritan Club and Mr.
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, honor
the Sandy Run Ruritan Club and Mr.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution
be presented to Sandy Run Ruritan Club's Citizenship and Patriotism Committee
