WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY WHO DIED SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 29, 1997, AT THE AGE OF
SEVENTEEN.

RESOLUTION
EXPRESSING THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND SORROW OF
THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS
OF LASHAY TANE WILLIAMS OF WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY
WHO DIED SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 29, 1997, AT THE AGE
OF SEVENTEEN.
Whereas, Lashay Tane Williams of Williamsburg County died
Saturday, November 29, 1997, at the age of seventeen; and
Whereas, she was the loving daughter of Jefferson and Moretta
Williams, and the sister of LaQueen Tyeasha and Tywone Jeffrey
Williams; and
Whereas, she is survived also by her paternal grandparents, eleven
aunts and fifteen uncles, and a host of cousins and friends; and
Whereas, she was a faithful member of St. Mark A.M.E. Church in
Hemingway from an early age; and
Whereas, she graduated as Valedictorian of her eighth grade class at
Battery Park Elementary School, and remained an honor student at
Hemingway High School; and
Whereas, Ms. Williams was Battalion Commander of the Junior
ROTC, President of the Senior Class, and 1997 Homecoming Queen,
in addition to participating in numerous academic and service
organizations; and
Whereas, her death was too soon and her family and friends feel their
pain too deeply and this State suffers her loss too early. Now,
therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate
concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly express their deepest
sympathy and sorrow to the family and friends of Lashay Tane
Williams of Williamsburg County who died Saturday, November 29,
1997, at the age of seventeen.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
her parents, Jefferson and Moretta Williams.
