A Concurrent Resolution congratulating the decathletes of Dreher High School
of Richland County on winning the 1993 South Carolina Academic Decathlon at
Coker College, and extending the Dreher team and coach the privilege of the
floor of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, April 20, 1993, for the
purpose of being recognized and congratulated for their achievements.

RESOLUTION
CONGRATULATING THE DECATHLETES OF DREHER HIGH
SCHOOL OF RICHLAND COUNTY ON WINNING THE 1993
SOUTH CAROLINA ACADEMIC DECATHLON AT COKER
COLLEGE, AND EXTENDING THE DREHER TEAM AND COACH
THE PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR OF THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES ON TUESDAY, APRIL 20, 1993, FOR THE
PURPOSE OF BEING RECOGNIZED AND CONGRATULATED
FOR THEIR ACHIEVEMENTS.
Whereas, Dreher High School of Columbia in Richland County has sent
decathlete teams of students from the eleventh and twelfth grades to the
South Carolina Academic Decathlon at Coker College eight times and
has won the competition seven of those eight times -- a truly superb
school record; and
Whereas, Dreher High decathletes for 1993 include Alex Brenner,
Marlene Bates, Andy Fiffick, Josh Kennedy, Abhijeet Joshi, Jeffrey
Oakman, Jonathan Oakman, Andrew Rice, and Paul Wachter, and the
team's coach is Ms. Susan Dillon; and
Whereas, the Dreher team has won the 1993 South Carolina Academic
Decathlon at Coker College and is scheduled to leave for Phoenix,
Arizona, to compete in a national academic decathlon; and
Whereas, these outstanding Dreher High School students and their
excellent coach are highly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South
Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate the decathletes of Dreher High
School of Richland County on winning the 1993 South Carolina
Academic Decathlon at Coker College.
Be it further resolved that the members of the Dreher team and the
team's coach, Ms. Susan Dillon, be extended the privilege of the floor of
the House of Representatives, at a time to be determined by the Speaker,
on Tuesday, April 20, 1993, for the purpose of being recognized and
congratulated for their achievements.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the
Dreher team, in care of its coach, Ms. Susan Dillon, at 701 Adger Road,
Columbia, South Carolina 29205.
