A HOUSE RESOLUTION
TO HONOR AND COMMEND TEEN MISS SOUTH CAROLINA MEGAN RADVANSKY OF RICHLAND COUNTY FOR HER OUTSTANDING WORK IN STRESSING THE IMPORTANCE OF WEARING SEAT BELTS IN PROTECTION OF THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF ALL SOUTH CAROLINIANS, AND TO WISH HER THE BEST IN ALL FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, the House of Representatives is proud to recognize South Carolina's youth who give of themselves in furtherance of their communities, and promote awareness for worthy social causes; and
Whereas, Megan Radvansky, the current Teen Miss South Carolina, has toured the State in furtherance of her platform for seat belt usage, speaking to student and adult groups alike to educate them on the importance of wearing seat belts; and
Whereas, personally affected by the situation, Megan suffered the loss of her older brother, Chad, to a single-car accident in which he was not wearing his seat belt; and
Whereas, resolved to prevent as many unnecessary deaths and injuries as she can, Megan strives to spread her message around the State so others do not have to experience the pain that she has endured; and
Whereas, Megan's outstanding efforts, in addition to the newly enacted South Carolina seat belt law, have caused many South Carolinians to focus on seat belt usage, creating safer highways for everyone; and
Whereas, a high school senior, Megan Radvansky has shown great courage, poise, and passion in advancing her cause, and South Carolina as a whole has benefited because of her efforts; and
Whereas, it is fitting and proper for the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, to pause in their deliberations to recognize Megan's accomplishments. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, honor and commend Teen Miss South Carolina Megan Radvansky of Richland County for her outstanding work in stressing the importance of wearing seat belts to protect the health and safety of all South Carolinians, and wish her the best in all future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Teen Miss South Carolina Megan Radvansky.
