H. 3187

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING BLYTHEWOOD LINEBACKER CHARLES WHITE OF RICHLAND COUNTY ON BEING NAMED TO THE STATE NEWSPAPER'S 2006 ALL-STATE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM.

Whereas, Charles White of Richland County capped his winning 2006 football season as linebacker for Blythewood High School by being named to The State newspaper's 2006 all-state high school football team; and

Whereas, this six-foot, 211-pound senior played an exceptional season that earned him a berth in the December 2, 2006 Shrine Bowl, held at Spartanburg's Gibbs Stadium; and

Whereas, as a member of Blythewood High School's varsity football team, Charles played a crucial role in his team's winning the Class AAA Championship title, a victory never before captured by a South Carolina football team in its first varsity campaign; and

Whereas, having committed to the Georgia Bulldogs even before his senior year, Charles White will attend the University of Georgia in 2007; and

Whereas, it is with great pride that the members of the General Assembly recognize such an outstanding young South Carolinian as Charles White of Blythewood High School and wish him much success in all his future endeavors. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina congratulate Blythewood linebacker Charles White of Richland County on being named to The State newspaper's 2006 all-state high school football team.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Charles White.
