COUNTY, FOR HER ELEVEN YEARS OF OUTSTANDING AND DEDICATED SERVICE AS PRESIDENT
OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF AND THE BLIND, AND TO WISH HER MUCH
SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
TO COMMEND DR. SHEILA BREITWEISER, OF SPARTANBURG COUNTY, FOR HER ELEVEN YEARS OF OUTSTANDING AND DEDICATED SERVICE AS PRESIDENT OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF AND THE BLIND, AND TO WISH HER MUCH SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, Dr. Sheila Breitweiser, of Spartanburg County, for eleven years has filled the office of President of the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind with dignity and excellence; and
Whereas, her honesty, intelligence, and commitment to excellence in education has drawn admiration from those with whom she has worked, as well as from the people of South Carolina at large; and
Whereas, Dr. Breitweiser, during her tenure as President of the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind, has witnessed her school win numerous awards, such as being named both a Palmetto Gold School for five consecutive years and a Red Carpet School, awards conferred by the South Carolina State Department of Education, and has led her school into the future with a sure and steady hand; and
Whereas, in addition to fostering these achievements by the school during her administration, this thirty-five year veteran of public school education has herself received many honors, among them the National Federation of the Blind of South Carolina's Distinguished Service Award; the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the highest service award given by the state of North Carolina; the Hospital Teacher's Award for Excellence; and the Spartanburg Business Women's Club Woman of Achievement Award; and
Whereas, she has worked tirelessly to establish a technology fund to support the mission of the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind, which now receives two hundred thousand dollars annually in appropriations; and
Whereas, Dr. Breitweiser, taking her responsibilities with the seriousness they deserve, has labored diligently as President of the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind for the educational welfare of this great State's blind and deaf children. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend Dr. Sheila Breitweiser, of Spartanburg County, for her eleven years of outstanding and dedicated service as President of the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind, and wish her much success and happiness in all her future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Sheila Breitweiser.
