H. 3838
A HOUSE RESOLUTION
TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES UPON THE PASSING OF BOOKER T. BROWN, OF LEE COUNTY, AND TO EXTEND THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were deeply saddened by news of the death of Mr. Booker T. Brown on March 10, 2007; and
Whereas, a cherished son to the late Eugene "Man" and Wilhelmenia Andrews Holloman Brown, Mr. Brown was born in Lee County on June 6, 1927; and
Whereas, a devoted family man, he shared a loving marriage with his childhood sweetheart, the former Miss Mary Alice Robinson. Together, their lives were blessed by nine loving children, twelve grandchildren, and twenty-six great grandchildren; and
Whereas, Mr. Brown lived most of his life in the Cypress Community, where he worked as a farmer at Dubose Farms and enjoyed tilling the soil and planting and harvesting crops; and
Whereas, steadfast in his faith, Mr. Brown was a lifelong member of Sandy Grove Methodist Church, where he remained committed to his church community through fellowship and selfless service; and
Whereas, an avid antique car fan, Mr. Brown frequented car shows and took pride in his "Gold Baby the Chevrolet Car"; and
Whereas, though it is with heavy hearts that the members of the House of Representatives mourn the loss of this fine South Carolina son, we celebrate his life full of service, faith, and love. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, express their profound sorrow upon the passing of Booker T. Brown, of Lee County, and extend the deepest sympathy to his family and many friends.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. James Brown, son of Mr. Booker T. Brown.
