A BILL
TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING ARTICLE 2 TO CHAPTER 31, TITLE 23 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A PERSON MAY NOT ESTABLISH A POLICY OR RULE THAT PROHIBITS CERTAIN PERSONS FROM TRANSPORTING AND STORING FIREARMS IN A LOCKED VEHICLE ON PROPERTY SET ASIDE FOR A VEHICLE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Chapter 31, Title 23 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Article 2
Transportation and Storage of Firearms in a Locked Vehicle
Section 23-31-50. A person, property owner, tenant, employer, or business entity may not establish a policy or rule that prohibits a person, except a convicted felon, from transporting and storing firearms in a locked vehicle on property set aside for the vehicle."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
