 A HOUSE RESOLUTION TO RECOGNIZE THE LUGOFF-ELGIN HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING TEAM
 FOR A SUCCESSFUL SEASON, AND TO CONGRATULATE THE COACHES AND WRESTLERS FOR
 WINNING THE 2010 CLASS AAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

TO RECOGNIZE THE LUGOFF-ELGIN HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING TEAM FOR A SUCCESSFUL SEASON, AND TO CONGRATULATE THE COACHES AND WRESTLERS FOR WINNING THE 2010 CLASS AAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

Whereas, fully ready for the challenge, the Lugoff-Elgin High School wrestling team pummeled the Hilton Head Seahawks 40-17 to capture the 2010 Class AAA State Championship title; and

Whereas, a deep Lugoff-Elgin line-up played a heavy part in the victory. The Demons won nine of the fourteen weight classes and added six-point wins, with pins in three; and

Whereas, the Lugoff-Elgin wrestlers developed winning strategies and individual excellence, which provided the strength and determination that led them to the top; and

Whereas, using their own athletic ability and leadership skills, Coach Evan Moxie and his assistant coaches forged a championship team that refused to settle for second best; and

Whereas, jubilant fans, celebrating Lugoff-Elgin's first state title in wrestling since 2003, watched the team pack up the championship trophy and let the team know their appreciation; and

Whereas, the House of Representatives takes great pleasure in commending the Lugoff-Elgin High School wrestling team for bringing recognition and pride to its school and community, and the members look with interest toward the team's continued success, both in the classroom and on the mat. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize the Lugoff-Elgin High School wrestling team for a successful season, and congratulate the coaches and wrestlers for winning the 2010 Class AAA State Championship title.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Tommy Gladden and Coach Evan Moxie of Lugoff-Elgin High School.
