 TEACHER OF THE YEAR, AND TO EXTEND SINCERE APPRECIATION FOR HER MANY
 OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO EDUCATION IN SOUTH CAROLINA.

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR NAD�GE VAUTHIER-KELLER OF RICHLAND COUNTY, FRENCH TEACHER AT HEATHWOOD HALL EPISCOPAL SCHOOL, UPON BEING NAMED 2011 SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION (SCISA) UPPER SCHOOL TEACHER OF THE YEAR, AND TO EXTEND SINCERE APPRECIATION FOR HER MANY OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO EDUCATION IN SOUTH CAROLINA.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were pleased to learn that Nad�ge Vauthier-Keller, French teacher at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School, has been named 2011 South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA) Upper School Teacher of the Year; and

Whereas, Ms. Vauthier-Keller began her teaching career with Heathwood Hall as a "rookie" teacher fresh from a master's program in 1999. She received her master's degree in English from Universit� de Haute in Alsace, France, and her master's degree in French from the University of South Carolina; and

Whereas, in teaching French to grades nine through twelve, including honors and AP, she has inspired in many a love for the French language and has instilled in her students the desire to set high expectations for themselves; and

Whereas, in recent years, Ms. Vauthier-Keller also has assumed faculty leadership of Heathwood Hall's yearbook and in this role has helped direct her student journalists toward excellent productions that bring honor to their school; and

Whereas, she encourages her students to do their best, overcomes the challenges new students bring each year, and finds greatness inside every child who comes into her classroom; and

Whereas, in addition, her passion for teaching, combined with a unique style that utilizes current as well as tried-and-true methods of instruction, creates a stimulating environment for her students to grasp vital concepts necessary for growing their youthful minds; and

Whereas, the General Assembly is proud to honor Nad�ge Vauthier-Keller for demonstrating the personal and teaching qualities that help mold South Carolina's youth into successful future leaders in their communities. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize and honor Nad�ge Vauthier-Keller of Richland County, French teacher at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School, upon being named 2011 South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA) Upper School Teacher of the Year, and extend sincere appreciation for her many outstanding contributions to education in South Carolina.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Nad�ge Vauthier-Keller.
