A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND FLORENCE COUNTY CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE JUDGE WILLIAM E. McLEOD ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT.

Whereas, Chief Administrative Judge William E. McLeod has retired from his post after twenty-six years of distinguished service for Florence County; and

Whereas, Judge McLeod is the father of J. William McLeod, Commissioner of the South Carolina Employment Commission and a former member of the House of Representatives; and

Whereas, Judge McLeod was appointed Magistrate in 1967 and in 1977 was named one of South Carolina's nineteen original Chief Magistrates by Supreme Court Chief Justice J. Woodrow Lewis; and

Whereas, his responsibilities as Chief Judge included coordinating the duties of the Municipal Court and Magistrate Court for Florence County; and

Whereas, Judge McLeod has been actively involved in the South Carolina Magistrates Association where he is a Lifetime Member and has most recently served as the representative for the Sixth Congressional District; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly congratulate Judge William E. McLeod on his record of wise leadership that has given the South Carolina Magistrates Association the stature it now has; and Whereas, no man, upon retiring, ever took with him as high a degree of respect and good wishesNext from so many devoted friends and associates. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly hereby recognize and congratulate Florence County Chief Administrative Judge William E. McLeod upon his retirement and Previouswish him well in his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Judge William E. McLeod.
