A Concurrent Resolution extending the congratulations and best wishes of the
members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, to the James
F. Byrnes High School Band of Spartanburg County, upon winning the Class AAAA
State Band Championship.

A CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
EXTENDING THE CONGRATULATIONS AND BEST WISHES
OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE
STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, TO THE JAMES F. BYRNES
HIGH SCHOOL BAND OF SPARTANBURG COUNTY, UPON
WINNING THE CLASS AAAA STATE BAND CHAMPIONSHIP.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly note with great
pride the recent accomplishment of the James F. Byrnes High
School Band on winning the Class AAAA State Band
Championship; and
Whereas, the James F. Byrnes Band Rebel Regiment was awarded a
96.125 rating out of a 100 point scale, edging out Lower State
Champion Walterboro by eight-tenths of a point during competition;
and
Whereas, Band Director Phillip McIntyre has led the Rebel
Regiment to three state championships in his twelve years at
Byrnes; and
Whereas, the Rebel Regiment Band, Director Phillip McIntyre, and
Assistant Director Eric Bell have brought honor to James F. Byrnes
High School through deep dedication, excellence, and sacrificed
countless hours of practicing to perform well in competition; and
Whereas, the Byrnes High School's Rebel Regiment Band has been
invited to appear in the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington,
D.C., in April. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate
concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this
resolution, congratulates the James F. Byrnes High School Band on
winning the Class AAAA State Band Championship.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
Band Director Phillip McIntyre and Principal Clifton N. Edwards.
