 THIRTY-EIGHT YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE AND COMMITMENT TO EDUCATION,
 CONGRATULATE HER FOR MANY OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS THROUGHOUT HER
 DISTINGUISHED CAREER AS A TEACHER, AND EXTEND TO HER AND HER FAMILY EVERY GOOD
 WISHNext ON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT FROM CHAPIN HIGH SCHOOL.

A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND JUDITH "JUDI" ASKINS OF CHAPIN FOR HER THIRTY-EIGHT YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE AND COMMITMENT TO EDUCATION, CONGRATULATE HER FOR MANY OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS THROUGHOUT HER DISTINGUISHED CAREER AS A TEACHER, AND EXTEND TO HER AND HER FAMILY EVERY GOOD PreviousWISHNext ON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT FROM CHAPIN HIGH SCHOOL.

Whereas, Judith "Judi" Askins of Chapin began her distinguished career in education as a practice teacher at A. C. Flora High School, Columbia, in 1964. Thereafter, she taught at A. C. Flora High School for three years; and

Whereas, Judith "Judi" Askins taught at Columbia High School for one and one-half years, at the James F. Byrnes Academy for three years, where she was in charge of the yearbook and sponsor of the junior class; at Wilson High School, Florence, for three years, where she was a Title One Teacher, and at Eau Claire High School, Columbia; and

Whereas, after several years of teaching, "Judi" Askins was affiliated with Lexington County School District 5 and employed at Chapin High School. She taught at Chapin High School for twenty-two years as an invaluable member of a dedicated team of teachers, administrators, and staff; and

Whereas, a dedicated and distinguished teacher, "Judi" Askins taught grades 8-12 honors as well as other grade levels while at Chapin High School. She served as a Department Chair for fifteen years and was honored as Teacher of the Year on two occasions; and

Whereas, exhibiting leadership as well as experience as a teacher, "Judi" Askins has served her students and her school well as a National Honor Society Sponsor, as a Gifted and Talented Coordinator, and in connection with World Literature Advanced Vocabulary and Creative Writing programs. She helped design the original Humanities Course, with the main focus on improving writing at Chapin High School; and

Whereas, exhibiting dedication and commitment to her students and both public and private education over many years, it is not surprising that "Judi" Askins describes her proudest moment over a long and distinguished career as when Chapin High School won an Exemplary Writing Award. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, commend "Judi" Askins of Chapin for her thirty-eight years of dedicated service and commitment to education, congratulate her for many outstanding achievements throughout her distinguished career as a teacher, and extend to her and her family every good Previouswish on the occasion of her retirement from Chapin High School.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Judith "Judi" Askins of Chapin.
