A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE MR. AND MRS. NORMAN M. HORTON, SR., ON THEIR OUTSTANDING FIFTY YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY, AND TO PreviousWISHNext THEM EVERY HAPPINESS IN THE COMING YEARS.

Whereas, Norman M. Horton, Sr., and Betty Cawthon Horton were married on April 22, 1956 and celebrate fifty loving and fruitful years together; and

Whereas, Mr. and Mrs. Horton, Sr., reared three devoted sons: Norman, Glenn, and Gary; and

Whereas, together, they dote upon their six sweet grandchildren: Kim, Danny, Glenn, Jr., Zachary, Chase, and Grayson; and

Whereas, Mr. Norman Horton, Sr., courageously served his country in the United States Army; and

Whereas, the couple owned and operated NM Horton and Sons BP from 1969 until their retirement; and

Whereas, Norman and Betty are past members of the Jaycees and the Jaycettes, respectively. They held local and regional offices, with Norman serving as a JCI Senator and a JCI Ambassador; and

Whereas, committed to their faith, the couple attends St. Paul's United Methodist Church; and

Whereas, the Hortons have lived a happy and memorable fifty years together, and enjoy each other's company and the love of their children and grandchildren in retirement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Norman M. Horton, Sr., on their outstanding fifty year wedding anniversary, and Previouswish them every happiness in the coming years.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. and Mrs. Norman M. Horton, Sr.
