AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 459 OF 2000, RELATING TO PAYMENT FOR THE ATTENDANCE OF MEETINGS BY THE ORANGEBURG COUNTY TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE AND AUTHORIZING THE COMMITTEE TO EXPEND CERTAIN FUNDS FOR CONTRACTUAL SERVICES, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT COMMITTEE MEMBERS MAY BE PAID THE USUAL MILEAGE FOR THEIR ROAD INSPECTIONS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Reimbursement for mileage
SECTION 1. Sections 2 and 3 of Act 459 of 2000 are amended to read:
"Section 2. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Orangeburg County Transportation Committee may expend up to a maximum of twelve thousand dollars each fiscal year for:
(1) contractual services including, but not limited to, consultant fees in furtherance of its duties and responsibilities pursuant to Section 12-28-2740; and
(2) the mileage as provided by law for members of state boards, committees, and commissions in furtherance of a committee member's official duties while inspecting county roads for funding eligibility.
The committee is further empowered, notwithstanding any other provision of law, to expend an amount not to exceed three thousand dollars for reasonable administrative expenses related directly to the activities of the committee.
Section 3. The Orangeburg County Transportation Committee members shall receive the payments authorized for payment to members in Sections 1 and 2 upon issuance of approved vouchers by its chairman."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
