A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING ROSS S. MCKENZIE OF SUMTER ON RECEIVING THE SOUTH CAROLINA FEDERATION OF MUSEUMS' CERTIFICATE OF SPECIAL RECOGNITION.

Whereas, Ross S. McKenzie of Sumter has received the South Carolina Federation of Museums' Certificate of Special Recognition; and

Whereas, Mr. McKenzie serves as chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sumter County Museum and has rendered distinguished service in this capacity; and

Whereas, he has been a Sumter resident since the early 1940's and has served his community on more than twenty boards and commissions; and

Whereas, he is an avid historian and has served as a member and on the board of the Sumter County Historical Society and for the Sumter County Museum for over a quarter of a century; and

Whereas, he is not one merely to lead or serve in name only but, rather, devotes himself totally to whatever cause or project needs his help; and

Whereas, Ross McKenzie is a remarkable individual; his intelligence, knowledge, drive, dedication, and vision have combined to make him a true and extremely valuable leader in Sumter County and statewide, and the General Assembly is indeed pleased to have this opportunity to recognize his talents and his service in this particular manner. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Ross S. McKenzie of Sumter on receiving the South Carolina Federation of Museums' Certificate of Special Recognition.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. McKenzie.
