A CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
RECOGNIZING TRUSTUS THEATRE OF COLUMBIA ON
BECOMING THE ONLY THEATRE IN THE STATE TO BE
ACCEPTED INTO THE PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL ENDOWMENT
FOR THE ARTS ADVANCEMENT PROGRAM, AND
CONGRATULATING TRUSTUS FOR THIS EXTRAORDINARY
ACCOMPLISHMENT AND FOR ITS TRADITION OF
EXCELLENCE IN THE ARTS .
Whereas, Trustus Theatre of Columbia has brought great honor to the
City of Columbia and the entire State of South Carolina by becoming the
only theatre in the State to be accepted into the prestigious National
Endowment for the Arts Advancement Program; and
Whereas, Trustus has recently received notification that it will receive
a National Endowment for the Arts Advancement Grant in the amount
of $50,789 to be used to add a second stage to the theatre; and
Whereas, Trustus Theatre is now seeking support to meet the required
3:1 match for this prestigious grant; and
Whereas, Trustus Theatre consistently offers unique, professional
excellence in theatre to the City of Columbia and the State of South
Carolina and is greatly deserving of recognition for its accomplishments.
Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this
resolution, recognizes Trustus Theatre of Columbia on becoming the
only theatre in the State to be accepted into the prestigious National
Endowment for the Arts Advancement Program and congratulates
Trustus for this extraordinary accomplishment and for its tradition of
excellence in the arts.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the
owners and staff of Trustus Theatre in Columbia.
