Indicates New Matter
The House assembled at 12:00 Noon.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:
As we stand, O Lord, on the threshold of a new Legislative Session, we are keenly aware of our need of Your help. It's going to be another busy Session. Should we become so busy that we forget You, please, O please don't forget us. Cause us to see each new day as an unspoiled page in Your book of time, as our next chance to do our best. Make us too big to be unkind, too occupied in good things to find fault, too wise to engage in unbecoming conversation, too strong to permit temptations to turn us from life's high road.
Thank You, Lord, for the privilege of prayer at the very beginning of this Legislative Session. Amen.
Pursuant to Rule 6.3, the House of Representatives was led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America by Rep. J. ARTHUR.
