The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:
Almighty God, the concerned Father of all Your children, may Your wisdom descend upon and pulsate through the hearts and minds of all who serve in this State's government. Grant to each one the knowledge and the will to fulfill completely his role of upright service to God and to humankind. Banish all unworthy impulses. Curb all selfish drives. Minimize all personal ambitions. Overrule all mistakes. Multiply what is right. And as You have blessed Your people from generation to generation, give us now that higher guidance which leads us to know and to do Your will.
We thank you for showing us the way in Your holy Word. Amen.
