The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:
God of the universe and yet the Father of each of us, may we feel Your abiding presence throughout this day. Decisions are difficult. Keep clear our minds, God of wisdom, and direct us to make sound choices in the hours that lie ahead. Inspire our thoughts. Awaken our imaginations. Be with us in our silent moments and in our speech. Accompany us in our haste and in our leisure. Join us in our solitude and in our association with others. Make Yourself felt in the freshness of the morning and in the weariness of the evening. And give us the ability to rejoice unendingly in Your mysterious companionship.
Thank You, Lord, for this privilege of prayer. Amen.
After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
