AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 58-31-390, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE RIGHT OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE AUTHORITY TO SERVE ANY LOAD OF SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY KILOWATT OR LARGER UPON REQUEST, SO AS TO PROHIBIT THE PUBLIC SERVICE AUTHORITY FROM SERVING ANY NEW PREMISES WITHIN THE TERRITORY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Authority may not serve new premises; exception

SECTION 1. Section 58-31-390 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"Section 58-31-390. Except as provided in Section 58-31-320(1), the Public Service Authority shall serve no new premises within the territory assigned by the Public Service Commission to any electric cooperative."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
