The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.

Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

O God, our Father, the Light of all that is true, the Inspiration of all that is good, and the Ultimate of all that is beautiful, we lift our minds above the swiftly moving scenes about us that we may receive Your wisdom and understanding sufficient for our needs. As we move into the doings of this day, help us to think clearly, to act prudently, and to work diligently that we make our State a better State where people work and play in harmony and with good will.

We pray in the Name of Jesus Whose teachings lift us up and inspire us to greater heights. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
