AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 22-2-190, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO MAGISTRATES' JURY AREAS, SO AS TO REVISE THE MAGISTRATES' JURY AREAS IN GREENVILLE COUNTY, AND TO AMEND ACT 765 OF 1978, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE NUMBER AND LOCATION OF MAGISTRATES IN GREENVILLE COUNTY, SO AS TO REVISE THE NUMBER AND LOCATION OF THESE MAGISTRATES.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Greenville County magistrates' jury areas revised

SECTION 1. Item (23) of Section 22-2-190 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"(23) Greenville County

Jury Area No. 1 includes the following voting precincts:

Jennings Mill 30; Maridell 31; Tigerville 32; Gowensville 33; Skyland 34; O'Neal 35; Sandy Flat 36; Mountain View 37; Slater Marietta 38; Ebenezer 39; Tubbs Mountain 40; Travelers Rest 41; Armstrong 46.

Jury Area No. 2 includes the following voting precincts:

Greenville 1; Greenville 2; Greenville 3; Greenville 4; Greenville 5; Greenville 6; Greenville 7; Greenville 8; Greenville 9; Greenville 10; Greenville 11; Greenville 12; Greenville 13; Greenville 14; Greenville 15; Greenville 16; Greenville 17; Greenville 18; Greenville 19; Greenville 20; Greenville 21; Greenville 22; Greenville 23; Greenville 24; Greenville 25; Greenville 26; Greenville 27; Greenville 28; Furman 47; Poinsett 61; Sulphur Springs 62; Saluda 63; Berea 64; Union Bleachery 65; Park Place 66; Monaview 67; Westside 68; Monaghan 69; Alexander 70; City View 71; Westcliffe 72; Dunean 76; Meadow Wood 92; Merrifield 93; Mission 94; Dove Tree 95.

Number and location of Greenville magistrates revised

SECTION 2. Section 1 of Act 765 of 1978, as last amended by Act 771 of 1988, is further amended to read:

"Section 1. The magistrates for Greenville County are assigned as follows: one for Greenville County Jury Area No. 1 for Cleveland Township; three for Greenville County Jury Area No. 2, including two for the City of Greenville and one for West Greenville; two for Greenville County Jury Area No. 3, including one for the Town of Greer, and one for Chick Springs Township; three for Greenville County Jury Area No. 4, including one for Piedmont-South Greenville Township, one for the Austin-Fairview Township, and one for Gantt Township. In addition to the above magistrates there are six part-time magistrates for Greenville County, four of whom must be selected from the county at large, one of whom must be selected from the Town of Travelers Rest, and one of whom must be selected from the Saluda, Glassy Mountain, O'Neal, or Highland Townships. These part-time magistrates shall serve in and draw jurors from those jury areas as assigned from time to time by the Chief Magistrate for administration of the county."
