The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:
Eternal Father, amid the demands of daily duties and the troubles of trying times, we retreat to these moments to meditate on Your blessings. Hear and now give us the resolve to follow unrelentingly Your beckoning. To this end, guide our thinking, direct our speaking, and govern our living that we may hear Your Divine approval: "Well done, good and faithful servant". Give us, we pray, high ambitions and a breath of vision that we may live this day restored in mind, renewed in strength, and reinforced in faith.
In the Name of Jesus we make our prayer. Amen.
