O God Who gives life and light for each new day, grant to us generous motives, cheerful hearts and ready wills that the hours of this day may be well spent in service to this State and beyond. Help us to meet with unfaltering confidence whatever this day may bring. Undergird us in the time of temptation. Keep us always loyal to the highest and the best. We pray not just for ourselves, but for all who administer the affairs of government as we shape policy by speech and vote. Make us worthy of the trust committed to us. Give us ears to hear Your voice and eyes to see Your guidance.
