TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION, RELATING TO OUTDOOR ADVERTISING, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 1495, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Department of Highways and Public Transportation, relating to outdoor advertising, designated as Regulation Document Number 1495, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

These regulations explain the Highway Advertising Control Act, Chapter 25 of the South Carolina Code of Laws. These amendments clarify the definitions of terms, address specifications for performing measurements, as well as size and spacing requirements, maintenance standards for signs, the issuance of directional permits and on premise signs.
