That they have duly and carefully considered the same, and recommend that the same do pass with amendment:
Amend the bill, as and if amended, by striking all after the enacting words and inserting:
/SECTION 1. Section 44-71-90 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:
"Section 44-71-90. Hospices must A hospice may not discriminate based on age, sex, race, color, religion, or source of payment, ability or inability to pay, or location of patient, in determining acceptance into a hospice program or provision of in providing goods and or services to patients of or potential patients."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor./

TO AMEND SECTION 44-71-90, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE PROHIBITION AGAINST DISCRIMINATION IN HOSPICE PROGRAMS, SO AS TO REVISE THE BASIS FOR DISCRIMINATION TO INCLUDE ABILITY OR INABILITY TO PAY AND DIAGNOSIS OF PATIENT AND TO CLARIFY THAT A HOSPICE MAY NOT DISCRIMINATE ON THESE GROUNDS IN ACCEPTING PATIENTS OR IN PROVIDING SERVICES.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 44-71-90 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:
"Section 44-71-90. Hospices must A hospice may not discriminate based on age, sex, race, color, religion, or source of payment, ability or inability to pay, location of patient, or diagnosis of patient in determining acceptance into a hospice program or provision of in providing goods and or services to patients of or potential patients."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
