Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

We come to You, Lord, in earnest prayer that You will keep us under Your divine protection. We cannot be of the same mind nor can we all think alike, but we would pray that we will be one in loyalty to duty, one in our desire for liberty, and identical in our search for justice and peace. Deliver us from pride and prejudice, from intolerance, and from every evil way. May we show forth in our lives the fruits of Your teachings. Remove from us all that hurts our unity of purpose and that would hinder our forward march together.

In the Master's Name we pray. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.

The following Bill was taken up, read the third time, and ordered sent to the Senate.

Wilkins: A BILL TO AMEND ACT 1329 OF 1968, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE CREATION OF THE GREENVILLE COUNTY RECREATION DISTRICT, SO AS TO CHANGE THE FISCAL YEAR OF THE DISTRICT FROM THE YEAR USED BY GREENVILLE COUNTY TO A FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY FIRST AND ENDING DECEMBER THIRTY-FIRST.
