Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

God of goodness and mercy, make us increasingly aware of Your presence even in the midst of things we cannot understand. With Your undergirding strength, we are able to meet each experience with unfaltering faith, a strong courage and an unwavering determination. When disappointments come, discouragements threaten, clouds of distress hover over us, keep us steady and secure. May no weakness of our own cause us to lose faith or give way to undue anxiety. In all things, in all ways, in all experiences keep us faithful to Your way that our consciences may be clear, our thoughts clean as we hear and heed Your Holy Word: "Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be dismayed" (Joshua 1:9). Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.

At 10:10 A.M. the House in accordance with the ruling of the SPEAKER adjourned to meet at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, March 5.
