The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.

Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

O God, Whose presence is always "nearer to us than breathing and closer to us than hands and feet" with a wisdom which is infallible, deliver us from self-deception and self-righteousness; from confusing our own selfish desires and ambitions with Your holy will; from indifference and over confidence; and most of all from compromise with the forces of evil. Grant to us a full measure of wisdom and understanding, courage and strength, faith and charity to meet with success all the challenges of our day.

Make us to take seriously the admonition: "Be you, therefore, followers of God". Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.

The following Bill was taken up, read the second time, and ordered to a third reading:

H. 4308 -- Reps. L. Elliott and Harwell: A BILL TO AMEND ACT 197 OF 1991 RELATING TO THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE MARION COUNTY HOSPITAL DISTRICT, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT TERMS OF THE COMMISSIONERS SHALL COINCIDE WITH THE HOSPITAL'S FISCAL YEAR.

At 10:15 A.M. the House in accordance with the ruling of the SPEAKER adjourned to meet at Noon on Tuesday, February 4.
