EXPRESSING THE SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT THE DEATH OF ANDERSON COUNTY DEPUTY SHERIFF CHRISTOPHER LEE TAYLOR, WHO DIED IN THE LINE OF DUTY ON DECEMBER 7, 1992, AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.
Whereas, Christopher Lee Taylor had a lifelong dream of becoming a police officer; and
Whereas, after his twenty-first birthday he became an Anderson County deputy sheriff; and
Whereas, in August of 1992, he finished the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy; and
Whereas, he was a member of the Anderson County Sheriff's Office dive team; and
Whereas, he was certified as a crime prevention officer and participated in "Officer Mac", Neighborhood Watch, and drug prevention programs; and
Whereas, he became involved in his community by adopting an elementary school class where he set a superb example and became an excellent role model; and
Whereas, he was a devoted husband and soon to be a father but died in the line of duty on December 7, 1992; and
Whereas, he was an outstanding law enforcement officer, a devoted public servant, and a good man whose presence will be missed greatly. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, express profound sorrow at the death of Anderson County Deputy Sheriff Christopher Lee Taylor, who died in the line of duty on December 7, 1992, and extend sympathy to his family and many friends.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Taylor's family.
