TO RECOGNIZE THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF MR. DOUG COUVART FOR HIS THIRTY YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE PIEDMONT COMMUNITY.
Whereas, for thirty years Mr. Doug Couvart has rendered dedicated and heartfelt service to the Piedmont Community; and
Whereas in those thirty years, his many contributions include his leadership in helping the Piedmont Fire Department move from a volunteer organization to a full-time staff which rivals the larger cities of the Palmetto State; and
Whereas, in the terrible drought of 1986, he did yeoman service in obtaining emergency water supplies for citizens whose wells went dry; and
Whereas, his dedication to his community and his willingness on a daily basis to exert himself on behalf of his fellow citizens far beyond the call of duty is a tribute to his great spirit and an example for all to emulate. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the South Carolina State Senate, by this resolution, recognizes the contributions of Mr. Doug Couvart for his thirty years of dedicated service to the Piedmont Community.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Doug Couvart.
