A HOUSE RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AT THE DEATH OF HENRY TECKLENBURG OF CHARLESTON COUNTY, AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, Henry Tecklenburg of Charleston County died unexpectedly on June 7, 1993, at the age of sixty-five; and

Whereas, he was a highly talented and capable individual who possessed a remarkable personality; and

Whereas, he served as Charleston County Auditor and as chairman of the South Carolina State Ports Authority; and

Whereas, he was a loving and devoted family man and successful businessman, was a loyal and enthusiastic supporter of the Democratic Party, and gave most generously of his time and financial resources to numerous charitable, civic, and religious organizations and causes; and

Whereas, he was a genuine leader, although he chose usually to remain in the background, and his impact on his community and State was great; and

Whereas, we were deeply saddened to learn of his death and want his family and many friends to know that they are uppermost in our thoughts and have our sympathy. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, express sorrow at the death of Henry Tecklenburg of Charleston County and extend sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the family of Mr. Henry Tecklenburg.
