TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 56-5-2935 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A PERSON UNDER TWENTY-ONE YEARS OF AGE WHO IS CONVICTED OF VIOLATING LAWS RELATING TO DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF INTOXICATING LIQUORS OR NARCOTIC DRUGS MUST HAVE HIS DRIVER'S LICENSE SUSPENDED UNTIL HE REACHES AGE TWENTY-ONE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 56-5-2935. In addition to other penalties provided by law for a violation of Section 56-5-2930 or 56-5-2945 the driver's license of a person under age twenty-one is suspended automatically upon conviction until the person obtains the age of twenty-one."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
