TO CONGRATULATE MR. ALBIN S. JOHNSON, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD
OF SOUTH CAROLINA'S COLUMBIA FARMS, INC., UPON BEING NAMED "MAN OF THE YEAR" BY THE NATIONAL INDEPENDENT POULTRY AND FOOD DISTRIBUTORS ASSOCIATION.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were extremely pleased to learn that one of South Carolina's most distinguished businessmen, Albin S. Johnson, has been named "Man of the Year" by the National Independent Poultry and Food Distributors Association; and
Whereas, Albin Johnson is Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Columbia Farms, Inc., one of South Carolina's most outstanding poultry and food products processors and distributors; and
Whereas, Mr. Johnson purchased Columbia Farms in March, 1982, and since that time has guided this very successful company with foresight, ability, and integrity; and
Whereas, he has served this industry in many leadership capacities including being President of the Southeastern Poultry and Egg Association, President of the National Broiler Council, and President of the South Carolina Poultry Federation. In addition, he is an active civic and community leader in Lexington County and serves on the Board of Directors of the Lexington State Bank and the Board of Trustees of the Midlands Technical College Foundation; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and congratulate this well-respected and capable man upon the occasion of his receipt of this truly deserved award. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly hereby congratulate Mr. Albin S. Johnson, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of South Carolina's Columbia Farms, Inc., upon being named "Man of the Year" by the National Independent Poultry and Food Distributors Association.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Johnson.
