The House assembled at 12:00 Noon.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:
Lord God, in Your concern for Your children as seen in the messages of Easter and the Passover, inspire us to more fully rely upon You. We admit that too often we wait to pray until all else fails. Help us to know that You are not a God of the Last Resort. Deliver us from treating You like a spare tire, or a fire extinguisher or as a parachute. Forbid that we should ever conduct ourselves on the assumption that we depend upon You only when everything else fails.
This our prayer we make to our God Who waits patiently for us to pray and Who is ever ready to hear our prayers. Amen.
Pursuant to Rule 6.3, the House of Representatives was led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America by the SPEAKER.
After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of Thursday, the SPEAKER
ordered it confirmed.
The Joint Insurance Study Committee Report was received and was printed in the Senate Journal on Monday, April 4.
