EXTENDING THE BEST WISHES AND HEARTFELT CONGRATULATIONS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO OUR CURRENT MISS SOUTH CAROLINA, KRISTIE GREENE, OF ANDERSON COUNTY ON APRIL 19, 1995, ON THE SPECIAL OCCASION OF "MISS SOUTH CAROLINA APPRECIATION DAY".
Whereas, Kristie Greene of Anderson County is currently representing the State of South Carolina as our "Miss South Carolina"; and
Whereas, Miss Greene is currently a Senior at Clemson University and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Greene; and
Whereas, since representing the State of South Carolina in the Miss America Pageant in September of 1994, she has devoted countless hours and generosity to her volunteer program Breast Cancer Awareness - To Aware Not Scare; and
Whereas, through Kristie's informative presentations and fund raising designed to empower women with knowledge to conquer and cure breast cancer, her volunteer program has been a great success; and
Whereas, as Miss South Carolina, Kristie speaks to elementary, middle, and high school children throughout the Palmetto State on behalf of "South Carolina Cares for Children"; and
Whereas, Miss South Carolina, Kristie Greene is a goodwill ambassador and role model of our State, and a representative of the State of Carolina that is making a difference; and
Whereas, Kristie Greene has the highest qualities of intelligence, poise, beauty, and involvement in her community and State. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina congratulate Miss South Carolina, Kristie Greene of Anderson County, and extend their best wishes for her success in all future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Miss South Carolina, Kristie Greene.
