A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE MEALS ON WHEELS VOLUNTEERS OF THE LEXINGTON COUNTY RECREATION AND AGING COMMISSION FOR THE MANY TIRELESS HOURS DEVOTED TO SERVING MEALS TO THE ELDERLY AND DISABLED RESIDENTS OF LEXINGTON COUNTY.

Whereas, Lexington County's Aging Program had over five hundred volunteers contribute their time and energy to various needs in 1994; and

Whereas, the Meals on Wheels program served five hundred ninety-one clients last year; and

Whereas, the volunteers served one hundred eighteen thousand six hundred twelve meals to the elderly and disabled residents of Lexington County in 1994; and

Whereas, volunteers donated nineteen thousand two hundred thirty-six hours of time and more than one hundred twenty thousand miles in travel to various programs of the Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission; and

Whereas, the commission would like to express its appreciation to all the volunteers for their hard work and tireless effort on behalf of the elderly and disabled of Lexington County. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly join the Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission in recognizing and commending the Meals on Wheels volunteers for the many tireless hours devoted to serving meals to the elderly and disabled residents of Lexington County.

Be it further resolved that the Meals on Wheels volunteers be presented this resolution and recognized for their service at a Volunteer Recognition event on April 11, 1995.
