COMMENDING DR. DILL GAMBLE OF ALLENDALE COUNTY FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE FIELD OF PUBLIC EDUCATION ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AND TO WISH HIM AND HIS WIFE, AZALEE, WELL IN ALL THEIR FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, Dr. Dill Gamble has served as Superintendent of schools of Allendale County for the past ten years; and
Whereas, during his tenure as Superintendent of the Allendale County School District, student test scores have improved, more students are graduating from the school system, a higher percentage of students are pursuing post-secondary educations. A new high school, central office, and stadium were constructed, and all schools have undergone renovations; and
Whereas, Dr. Gamble previously served as Associate Superintendent for Program Improvement and Supervisor for Accreditation and Education Improvement for the South Carolina Department of Education; and
Whereas, during his illustrious career, he also has served as a principal, associate principal, assistant principal, teacher, and coach in the Sumter County school system and was a teacher and coach in Williamsburg County; and
Whereas, Dr. Gamble has served as a clinical instructor at the University of South Carolina; and
Whereas, he is a United States Air Force veteran; and
Whereas, Dr. Gamble is a member of a number of associations that are dedicated to improving the lives of our state's and nation's young people; and
Whereas, he has received numerous honors and awards, including 1994 Superintendent of the Year, for his work in the field of public education. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina commend Dr. Dill Gamble of Allendale County for his many years of dedicated service to the field of public education and wish him and his wife, Azalee, well in all their future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. and Mrs. Gamble.
