EXPRESSING THE SENSE OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY THAT THE CAPITOL COMPLEX POLICE FORCE SHALL NOT SERVE AS STREET CROSSING GUARDS FOR THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY ON A REGULAR BASIS BUT THAT SUCH SERVICE SHALL BE RENDERED WHEN IT IS CONSIDERED NECESSARY BY THE PRESIDING OFFICERS FOR UNUSUAL CIRCUMSTANCES.
Whereas, the practice of having the Capitol Complex Police Force, or any other security personnel, serve as street crossing guards for the members of the General Assembly on a regular basis is completely unnecessary; and
Whereas, it is recognized, however, that such a service should be rendered when it is considered necessary by the presiding officers of the General Assembly for unusual circumstances. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That it is the sense of the General Assembly that the Capitol Complex Police Force shall not serve as street crossing guards for the members of the General Assembly on a regular basis but that such service shall be rendered when it is considered necessary by the presiding officers of the General Assembly for unusual circumstances.
