TO AMEND SECTION 38-71-737, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE REQUIREMENT FOR COVERAGE OF PSYCHIATRIC CONDITIONS IN GROUP HEALTH INSURANCE POLICIES, SO AS TO INCREASE MINIMUM BENEFITS ON AN OPTIONAL RIDER OR ENDORSEMENT FOR A GROUP HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 38-71-737(B) of the 1976 Code, as added by Act 377 of 1994, is amended to read:
"(B) The offer of an optional rider or endorsement for a group health insurance policy must provide minimum benefits for psychiatric conditions not less than two five thousand dollars for each member for each benefit year with a lifetime maximum benefit of ten twenty-five thousand dollars."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
