TO CONGRATULATE THE SENECA HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM AND THEIR COACHES UPON WINNING THE 1994-95 STATE CLASS AAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP AND TO RECOGNIZE THE TEAM'S DILIGENT EFFORTS THROUGHOUT THE SEASON.
Whereas, the Seneca High School Girls Basketball Team, the Lady Bobcats, won the Class AAA State Basketball Championship; and
Whereas, the Lady Bobcats were coached by Coach Amanda Holder to a 59-52 victory over Keenan High School; and
Whereas, the Lady Bobcats closed their season undefeated in conference play and ended with a record of 26 consecutive wins and only 2 losses; and
Whereas, the Lady Bobcats were led this season by team captains Erin Perry, Kelly Davis, and Nikki Blassingame who was the Class AAA Player of the Year; and
Whereas, twenty-one seasons of hard work and dedication by the players and coaches led by Coach Amanda Holder culminated in the Lady Bobcat's first State Championship since 1953; and
Whereas, the accomplishments of this fine group of athletes this season has brought long deserved recognition not only upon themselves, but upon their school, county, and state as well. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate hereby congratulate the Seneca High School Girls Basketball Team, the coaching staff, and the school officials for their dedication to the program this season and honor the Lady Bobcats upon winning the 1994-95 State Class AAA Basketball Championship.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Coach Amanda Holder on behalf of the 1994-95 Lady Bobcats Basketball Team and their coaching staff.
