The Senate assembled at 11:00 A.M., the hour to which it stood adjourned and was called to order by the PRESIDENT.
A quorum being present the proceedings were opened with a devotion by the Chaplain as follows:
Beloved, St. Paul wrote to the Ephesians, (NRSV) Chapter 4 (32):
"And be kind to one another, tender
hearted, forgiving one another, as God
in Christ has forgiven you. Therefore
be imitators of God, as beloved children."
Let us pray.
Our Father, we thank You for this new day, resplendent in the beauty of springtime.
We thank You for work to do and strength with which to do it.
As we come to our tasks today, give us a sense of the Divine Presence that,
whether at home or in Caesar's House, we may
say,
"O make me Thine forever, and should I
fainting be,
Lord, let me never, never, outlive
my love for Thee."
Amen.
