 3     TO AMEND THE 1976 CODE BY ADDING SECTION 59-123-115 SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR THE MANNER IN WHICH THE
 4     SOUTH CAROLINA AREA HEALTH EDUCATION CONSORTIUM SHALL BE AWARDED FUNDING FOR CERTAIN
 5     PROGRAMS.

 7     A.  The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
 8
 9           "Section 59-123-115.  The South Carolina Area Health Education Consortium shall be awarded funding for the Statewide Family
10     Practice Residency System, the Graduate Doctor Education Program, and the Area Health Education Center Program based on the
11     appropriate formula, as approved by the Area Health Education Consortium and the Commission on Higher Education, and the funding
12     methodology shall be applied in a manner consistent with that of other state institutions of higher learning."

14     B.  This section takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
