TO COMMEND MR. TROY NOBLES FOR HIS OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP AND DEDICATION IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION, AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM ON THE OCCASION OF HIS BEING SELECTED AS THE RECIPIENT OF THE MIDLAND VALLEY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE'S 1998 CITIZEN OF THE YEAR AWARD.
Whereas, Troy Nobles is presently serving as Area 3 Superintendent of Schools in Aiken County, a dedicated educator with over thirty-six years of service, was recently named and honored by the Midland Valley Chamber of Commerce as the Chamber's 1998 Citizen of the Year; and
Whereas, a graduate of Presbyterian College, Mr. Nobles began his career as a teacher of social studies at Leavelle-McCampbell High School in the 1960's, then was named assistant principal for one year before being named principal of Leavelle-McCampbell High School; and
Whereas, when Leavelle-McCampbell and Langley-Bath-Clearwater High Schools were consolidated in 1980, and in keeping with his dedication as an educator and his skills as an administrator, Troy Nobles was selected to become the first principal of Midland Valley High School; and
Whereas, Mr. Nobles later served as Area 2 Superintendent of Schools in Aiken County before he was named to his current position as Area 3 Superintendent of Schools, and is recognized by his peers as being a true Southern gentlemen in everything he does, and one who has helped raise, educate, and make a real and worthwhile difference in the lives of many, many people while they were students in the Midland Valley area of Aiken County; and
Whereas, Troy Nobles is married to his lovely wife, Jeanene, and they have two daughters, Ellen and Anna, and he serves as a Sunday school teacher and chairman of deacons at Langley First Baptist Church, and consistently demonstrates the highest caliber of leadership to his family, his students, his church, and his community, and is truly an outstanding and dedicated leader in the field of education. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate commend Mr. Troy Nobles for his outstanding leadership and dedication in the field of education, and congratulate him on the occasion of his being selected as the recipient of the Midland Valley Chamber of Commerce's 1998 Citizen of the Year Award.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Troy Nobles.
