The House assembled at 12:00 Noon.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:
We thank You, Heavenly Father, for this another week offering to us service to You, to our great State and to our people. Cause us to holdfast to Your strong right hand in trust and in obedience. Forbid that we should be found trusting in an unknown future instead of an all-knowing God. Endow these Representatives, and all connected with their work, creative wisdom and pure motives. Illumine our minds, and guide us in the way we should go so as to please You and be a blessing to our fellow beings. And cause us always to judge each day not by the harvest we reap, but the seed that we sow.
Hear us, Lord, as we pray in praise and thanksgiving. Amen.
