The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:
Our Father in Heaven, the Source of all wisdom and the Giver of all blessings, keep ever before us the brightness of Your truths that we may walk in the paths of righteousness. Remain close by throughout this day and always. Keep silent all sounds that would keep us from hearing Your voice. And hearing that Voice, grant to us the determination to heed it and to follow its beckoning as given in Your Holy Word. In a sure and certain hope, may we rely solely upon Your guidance.
We pray to our God Who reveals Himself in love and goodness to His children. Amen.
