The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:
Almighty God, we have joined the throng in making our pilgrimage to Good Friday and Easter Day, whose messages transform darkness into light, death into life, and defeat into victory. As we meditate upon these sacred events, fill us with radiant and confident joy. Breathe upon us the way of trust and hope, the way of justice and peace. Keep us true and strong in our service to God and to the people that we serve. May the sacred memories of Passover, Good Friday and Easter illuminate our work in this place, and wherever else we may be.
Give us the true willingness to follow Your beckoning. Amen.
After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
The following Joint Resolution was taken up, read the third time, and ordered sent to the Senate.
