Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

Eternal God, as we have entered into the portals of another day, help us to be aware of Your continual presence as we hear the assuring words: "the eternal God is your Refuge and Strength, and underneath are the everlasting arms." (Deut. 33:27) Increase our dependence upon Your leadership that we may be clear in our thinking, firm in our convictions, wise in our decisions that we may serve aright the people of our beloved State and instruments through which Your will is done.

To the glory of Your holy Name be our praise. Amen.

At 10:01 A.M. the House in accordance with the ruling of the SPEAKER adjourned to meet at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, March 10.
