AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE PER DIEM AND MILEAGE FOR MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF THE CHESTERFIELD COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT AND TO REPEAL ACT 235 OF 1981, RELATING TO PER DIEM AND MILEAGE FOR MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF THE CHESTERFIELD COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT AND MAKE THESE PROVISIONS EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 1999.
Be in enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Per diem
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, effective July 1, 1999, and thereafter, members of the Board of the Chesterfield County School District shall receive per diem payments of seventy-five dollars for each board meeting attended, with the chairman receiving one hundred dollars per meeting, plus mileage to and from these meetings as authorized by law for members of state boards, committees, and commissions. The board may exercise the option to increase the per diem annually in the amount of the EFA inflationary rate as approved by the State Budget and Control Board.
Repeal
SECTION 2. Act 235 of 1981 is repealed effective July 1, 1999.
Time effective
SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
